OUR STORY

US-based attorneys Ed and Hans have traveled frequently and extensively throughout Asia.  Each time they visited a major Asian city, they wondered about the legal and business environment and wanted to get to know other legal professionals.  In early 2025, they finally decided to sponsor meetups for lawyers and the legal community, with a plan to seed and connect 34 city chapters in a little over 3 years.

January 2025 began with a soft launch of the concept in Bangkok, with a focus on building a support network for independent or digital nomad legal professionals.  After some fun events with positive feedback, we refined our approach and launched in May 2025 our first official Legal Nomads event in the land of nomads in Ulaanbataar, Mongolia.  Since then we have created networks and started meetups, with a focus of Southeast and East Asian in 2025 and 2026, a plan to expand into Central Asia and South Asia in 2027, and aspirations of connecting more closely with China in 2028.

Our founders include Ed (Korean-born and heritage, US-raised, US and Asia-residing), Hans (Taiwan heritage, US-raised, US-residing), and Aum (Thai-born and heritage, Thai-raised, Italy and Thailand-residing).  Our support staff also includes a Vietnamese-born, raised, and residing designer and Burmese-born and raised administrator.  We look forward to connecting with all professionals in the legal community, especially those who have a love of travel, appreciation of culture, and a desire to work from anywhere.
